WHEN SHOULD I SCHEDULE MY SESSION?
I recommend booking your newborn session while you are still pregnant, around 32 weeks, to guarantee I have a spot available around the birth of your baby, I will add your due date to my calendar. Once the baby has arrived you can then contact me to finalize the session date. Maternity sessions should be booked by week 28 to guarantee availability for your session between 32-35 weeks pregnant. For all other sessions, I recommend booking at least three weeks in advance.
HOW MANY IMAGES SHOULD I EXPECT TO SEE FROM MY SESSION?
You should expect 20-30 images to view at your viewing appointment. I try my best to give a variety of poses so you have a great selection to look through. Five digital images are included with each session. Additional images can be purchased at the viewing session.
WHAT DO YOU RECOMMEND FOR WARDROBE?
I always recommend neutral, muted, or deep colors. I try to steer clients away from bright colors and patterns. When selecting your wardrobe I don't recommend putting everyone in the same color, but instead, use a color scheme that consists of different shades of color and have some neutrals that blend well mixed in. Mixing in a texture or fabric that allows movement can also help your photos have more appeal.
what is included when doing a cake smash session?
My milestone sessions are priced lower because they last about 30-45 minutes and parents bring any decorations they would like to use. Due to allergies, parents are also responsible for purchasing the cake for their child.
WHAT AGE SHOULD MY BABY BE FOR A NEWBORN SESSION?
The best age for a newborn session is 10-14 days, however up to 2 months is booked as a newborn. Please understand that the older a newborn is, the less likely I will be able to get the typical newborn poses and it will be less likely for baby to sleep as much for the session.
how do i prepare for a newborn session?
Please try to keep your baby awake for the hour prior to the session. Ideally, baby can be fed just prior to coming to the session. Dress baby in a button down or zipper onsie/pj's, so that clothing is easily removed when you get here. If baby is asleep when you arrive please do not wake him/her. The room will be nice and warm to help baby stay comfortable and sleepy. I recommend bringing a tank top or light shirt to change into after parent poses. Throughout the session, we will do parent and/or sibling poses as well as wrapped and unwrapped poses of your newborn. There is no need to bring a wardrobe for baby, as I have wraps and outfits, unless there is something special you would like to bring (not necessary). It is helpful if you have someone to take siblings home after family and sibling poses. The session will last 2-3 hours and is often too much for the siblings to sit through. Please be sure to bring diapers, wipes and any needed bottles or pacifiers/soothers if baby uses them. My space is breastfeeding and bottle feeding friendly, so bring whatever you may need to feel comfortable.
WHAT IS THE TURNAROUND TIME FOR IMAGES?
Images will be ready to view within 1-2 weeks.
